Our
Summer 2006 vacation was a road trip, destination:
Disneyland, California. We
nicknamed it the "can you zip it for 2
seconds?" trip. |
|

Thursday, July 13th: Set out at
5:00 in the morning, and reached
Dillon, Colorado that
night. |
 |
|
Friday, July 14th: Continued on
to Las Vegas, Nevada. Visited
The Mirage, The Venetian
(taking a Gondola cruise down their Grand Canal), and
Treasure Island
that night. |
 |
|
Saturday, July 15th: Spent the
morning visiting Circus
Circus before moving onto
Lake Forest, California
to meet up with Rachel's family. We went to an
Angels game that
night (they won too!). |
 |
|
Sunday, July 16th: We spent the
day with Rachel's family in
Laguna Niguel
Regional Park. It was a 1st birthday celebration for our
nephew, Daniel Jamieson. |
 |
|
Monday, July 17th: Visited the
Orange County Zoo today. |
 |
|
Tuesday, July 18th: Visited the
Orange County Fair today. |
 |
|
Wednesday, July 19th: Two days
after Disneyland's
51st birthday, we visited the happiest place on earth! |
 |
|
Thursday, July 20th: Day 2 of
Disneyland resort visit. |
 |
|
Friday, July 21st: We set out
this morning. Destination: Grand Canyon. We visited the
Grand Canyon Caverns along
the way (on Route 66), and then stayed at the
Maswik
Lodge, inside the park. |
 |
|
Saturday, July 22nd: Spent the
morning visiting the sites of the
Grand Canyon and then set out for
Albuquerque, New Mexico in the
afternoon. Along the way, we traveled parts of Route 66 and
stopped to take our picture on a corner in
Winslow, Arizona (you
remember that old Eagles tune "Take it Easy", don't ya?) We also
stopped for a photo op at
The Jack Rabbit
Trading Post in Joseph, Arizona. |

Sunday, July 23rd: Set out for
Weatherford, Oklahoma.
We visited the
Cadillac Ranch (just outside Amarillo, Texas) and stopped for an
hour at the
National Route 66 Museum in Elk City, Oklahoma. |
 |
|
Monday, July 24th: Destination:
home. |
 |
